People like reading updated content with news and interesting articles (that’s why we have so many newspapers and magazines). Blog is an easiest way to create updated content. And RSS/Atom feeds make it so similar to newspaper subscriptions. Newspaper full of your ads! 🙂
What should I write about?
Okay, to be worth reading, blog shouldn’t contain only ads and product news, press releases – it should have an interesting content related to your product niche, otherwise no one will add your feed to their aggregators. If you sell accounting software, write about best accounting practices; if you sell text search components for Delphi, write about recent researches on text search algorithms, give examples of interesting usage of your components, etc.
Example of Successful Blogger
Check out Nick Bradbury’s blog. Nick is the author of TopStyle XHTML/CSS editor and FeedDemon RSS/Atom aggregator. He writes not only about his software releases, but generally about feeds, podcasting, CSS, HTML, web development, and even… cartoons 🙂 He also has blogs called “TopStyle Tips” and “FeedDemon Tips” where Nick and users write tips and hints on how to use these products.
How to Setup a Blog
You can use hosted service – the most popular are TypePad and Blogware resellers. You just pay monthly fee, and don’t have to install software.
Or you can install blogging software on your own server. I recommend WordPress (free) or MovableType (bigger list with Windows server-based software can be found here).
Finally, in this paragraph, it’s time to recommend my software that will simplify and enhance posting to your blogs (be it hosted, or installed) – BlogJet canada goose down mittens https://www.goedkopeparka.nl Canada Goose victoria parka outlet official. It has WYSIWYG editor and a feature to automatically upload pictures to your blog, so you can easily post screenshots 🙂
That’s all for now. See you in the blogospere!
